Werescote View is a stunning self-catering holiday apartment nestled on the Somerset-Devon border. Just 3½ miles from Wellington, 10 from Taunton and 22 from Exeter, this delightful, ground floor holiday property is part of a grand 19th century house that has recently been refurbished to a first class standard.
Set in 22 acres of spectacular Somerset and Devon countryside, Werescote View is an ideal venue for self-catering holidays with family or friends. It is steeped in local history as the former family seat of the Were and Fox families who ran wool mills in Wellington. Records indicate that the same bricks ordered for building the mills were also used to build the house.
A three-bedroom holiday apartment, which could also be use for business trip accommodation, has magnificent views of Brunel's Whiteball Tunnel where the steam train 'The City of Truro' recorded the first ever speed of 100mph achieved by any commercial vehicle in May 1904.
